RNA Advisors, LLC • Reno/Tahoe, NV

Position Overview

RNA Advisors, LLC seeks a Senior Associate to support valuation engagements across the biotech and pharmaceutical equity lifecycle—from preclinical-stage private companies through late-stage public enterprises. You will work alongside senior team members to help clients understand how clinical, regulatory, and commercial phase transitions reshape the risk and value profile of their equity, and you will leverage RNA Advisors’ integrated AI-enabled tools to deliver rigorous, defensible analysis.

The ideal candidate brings strong financial modeling skills, a foundational understanding of drug development, and a desire to grow within a technology-enabled intelligence platform. This role is well-suited to someone who is analytically driven, intellectually curious, and eager to develop client-facing capabilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support valuation engagements spanning the biotech equity lifecycle, including early-stage venture-backed companies and late-stage public companies, under the direction of senior team members.
  • Build and maintain financial models using option-based allocation methods, probability-weighted scenario analyses, discounted cash flow techniques, and comparable benchmarking; ensure deliverables are audit-ready and meet technical, editorial, and visual standards.
  • Develop familiarity with frameworks for understanding how clinical phase transitions, regulatory milestones, and commercialization events drive shifts in equity value and risk profile.
  • Conduct competitive and market research across pipelines, clinical trials, pricing, reimbursement, and regulatory pathways using RNA Advisors’ AI-enabled intelligence capabilities.
  • Assist in preparing client-facing materials including presentations, memos, and reports that translate complex scientific and financial dynamics into clear narratives.
  • Participate in client meetings and discovery conversations, developing client communication skills under senior guidance.
  • Support the integration of RNA Advisors’ platform tools into engagement workflows, identifying opportunities to leverage technology for greater efficiency and analytical depth.
  • Contribute to proposals, case studies, and business development materials as directed.
  • Assist in refining methodologies, templates, and benchmarks; contribute to best practice documentation.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical valuation, life sciences consulting, equity research, transaction advisory, corporate strategy, or a similar analytical role with exposure to life sciences companies.
  • Financial modeling experience, including working knowledge of option-based allocation frameworks, probability-weighted scenario modeling, discounted cash flow analysis, and comparable company benchmarking as applied to life sciences equity.
  • Foundational understanding of drug development lifecycles, clinical phase transitions, and regulatory milestones and their impact on equity value.
  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative or scientific discipline required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) in Finance, Life Sciences, or a related field is a plus.
  • Technical fluency with Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to Python, SQL, or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to contribute to clear, well-structured client deliverables.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with financial databases and clinical/regulatory sources (e.g., Capital IQ, PitchBook, Evaluate Pharma, ClinicalTrials.gov, FDA/EMA documents).
  • Exposure to AI tools for research, drafting, data analysis, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with cap table management, equity structuring, or venture-backed company dynamics.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities.
  • Interest in developing client-facing and technology-adoption skills over time.
