Ashley Lutz is Data Science Manager and Associate Valuation Manager at RNA Advisors, where she brings deep expertise in bioinformatics, multi-omic analytics, and machine learning to the firm’s data-informed valuation opinions and strategic guidance for biotech, digital health, and life sciences clients.
Ms. Lutz joins RNA Advisors from Recursion, where she served as Senior Data Scientist and led development of the company’s in-house proteomics analytics platform. There she architected automated pipelines for quality control, differential abundance analysis, and gene set enrichment analysis that directly informed pipeline prioritization and clinical trial design. She also engineered a whole-genome sequencing pipeline that reduced FASTQ-to-VCF processing time from more than 48 hours to under 10 minutes.
Earlier in her career, she led biomarker and patient stratification strategy for preclinical Parkinson’s Disease programs at Neumora, where she identified novel CSF biomarker relationships that informed the renegotiation of partnership contract terms. Her experience spans the full data lifecycle relevant to biotech valuation and diligence work, including large-scale healthtech data ingestion and pipeline engineering. At Deerwalk, she built machine learning models and data workflows for healthcare payer and provider analytics products, translating claims, EHR, and PBM data into commercial features. At Clover Health, she developed ingestion pipelines for medical record processing supporting risk adjustment, payment integrity, and CMS auditing.
Ms. Lutz holds an MS in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was awarded the Women in Business Leadership Scholarship. She has also secured an MIT I-Corps grant to assess the commercial and market potential of a machine learning model predicting depressive symptoms from music-listening patterns.
